Day One: Starting out at North Lake, we follow the trail to Piute Pass, then negotiate a cross country route to Muriel Lake.
Day Two: After a bit of exploration, we head down Piute Creek, camping below Hutchinson Meadow.
Day Three: A long day of trail slogging, down Piute Creek to the San Joaquin River. A few miles on the John Muir trail, then up a seldom used trail into the upper reaches of Goddard Canyon.
Day Four: The trail eventually peters out as we follow the San Joaquin up Goddard Canyon to Martha Lake.
Day Five: A tricky cross country route from Martha Lake to the meadows along the outlet of Davis Lake.
Day Six: The route around Davis Lake is challenging; lots of tedious talus and route finding problems. We climb the divide at the upper end of the basin and descend to Wanda Lake.
Day Seven: Our cross country route climbs the divide west of Wanda Lake and descends the McGee Lakes basin.
Day Eight: We descend the McGee Creek basin to its confluence with Evolution Creek.
Day Nine: After a short stint on the Muir Trail we head east on the Lamarck Col cross country route. We climb to Darwin Bench and camp at one of the lakes in Darwin Canyon.
Day Ten: From Darwin Canyon we climb Lamarck Col and descend to our terminus at North Lake road head.
