2013 Trips
We did three trips, each of ten days duration. Our first trip took us to Gardiner Basin and King Spur via Kearsarge and Glen Passes. After resting a few days, we went in to the Evolution region, entering over Piute Pass and exiting at Lamarck Col. Our last trip was to Milestone Basin in the Upper Kern drainage. We used Kearsarge and Forester Passes to access this access this difficult to reach high area on the east side of the Great Western Divide.

2012 Trips

This summer we did two trips, both of ten days and both in Kings Canyon National Park. The first trip took us over Bishop Pass into the Amphitheater Lake, Palisades region. The second trip started at Road's End in Kings Canyon and took us to the flanks of the Great Western Divide on a roughly circular route around Mt. Brewer.

2011 Trips
Backpacking is an activity that Madeleine and I love to do together.  We spend as much time as we can in the mountains during the summer. 2011 was an especially big year for backpacking. In the spring we did a long, mostly desert hike (530 miles) across California from the Colorado River to the Pacific. During the summer we spent 47 days hiking in various parts of the High Sierra of California.
